Net Loft Summer Camp 2026 (Year 1 & 2) | Nature Journaling Study Group

Come to Summer Camp with The Net Loft! 

Join us for a summertime self-guided course in nature journaling. The Net Loft Summer Camp will be using Roseann Hanson's books for a summer of nature study and recording of outdoor observations and experiences for first and second year campers, while third year campers will enjoy a summer of independent study and an opportunity to do a nature journaling presentation for the group if desired. Please note; this is just to REGISTER for Summer Camp 2026. We will link books and kits separately. 

The eight-week course of instruction and guidance, via the readings and assignments in the texts will include camp activities each week during the summer camp months. Participants are welcome to discuss their progress in our weekly Monday Net Loft Watercolor Journaling Sessions (12 noon or 7 pm  Alaska time) in person or online.

Please specify in messages if you plan to attend in person or on zoom. Sessions will be recorded for those unable to meet during meeting times.

Dotty Widmann will be coordinating the camp sessions.

The Fireweed Field Kits coordinate with the kits for required materials mentioned in the books. Be sure to order after you have ordered book.

ESSENTIAL NATURE JOURNALING SUPPLIES: 

Seedlings (Year 1) REQUIRED:

• NATURE JOURNALING FOR A WILD LIFE OR MASTER IN FIELD ARTS
•  Watercolor Journal (The first year book includes blank pages at end of textbook, which I found worked perfectly well). Please contact if you are interested in a separate journal and would like suggestions
•  Pen (waterproof) such as MICRON (.15mm, .20mm, .25mm) or Staetler Pigment Liner (0.05mm, .1,mm .3mm
• Pencil (Mechanical Pencils included in kits below) Many people enjoy using Blackwing Pencils. 
• Watercolor Travel Paint Set
• Paintbrush - may be waterbrush (included in kits below)
