George's Wristers
George's Wristers
Out of stock
These wristers were designed by Valerie Covel for her husband George. George is a gillnetter and requested Valerie to make him some wristers that would be both warm and therapeutic for hard working hands. This pattern is an adaptation of an original pattern by Phyllis Wharton of Seal Harbor, Maine that was published in “Fox & Geese & Fences” Collection of Traditional Maine Mittens by Robin Hansen. They were knit for George for fishing, hunting and heavy outdoor work and activities. She originally used one skein of the Frangipani 5 ply Guernsey Yarn held double stranded which makes an extra sturdy pair of wristers.
Gauge: 4.5 stitches per inch
Needles: US 3 double points (or size for gauge), Tapestry Needle for finishing.
