All welcome to join this self-paced study that will work through the John Muir Laws Nature Journaling Text. The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling Book Study was created to provide an opportunity to grow and learn more about the natural environment by working through the  John Muir Laws text methodically and systematically.  These lessons will help provide you with training and instruction to enhance your observation and perception and, in turn, appreciation of the world around you.

John Muir Laws is an award winning naturalist, educator, and artist. His guide to Nature Journaling is considered an important and valuable reference for those interested in learning the fundamentals of nature journaling.  The lessons in the text teach basic principals with a primary goal  of encouraging one to move through the world with curiosity and joy.   

Participants will need the required text, journals, a tool kit (Haystack or Heney Ridge) or supplies from list gathered from your collection, watercolor paints, brushes, a colored pencil set and assemble a curiosity kit.

Those who have many of the supplies on hand from previous courses may review kits below as a checklist of suggested items.

Journals - 

Ideally one should have a white blank medium sized journal and a toned paper journal

There are two kits available: The Haystack Tool Kit & the Heney Ridge Tool Kit.

The tool kits contain the Laws Sketch Book. You may find you might need another book at some point, but this will provide a good starting journal.
