“Practice makes progress”

Lettering is an art form that requires training with repetitive exercises to develop skills in creating consistent precise letter formations. From there, one can develop one's own personal modifications and applications.

The purpose of this group is to provide structure for a practice routine, in order to learn basic handwriting skills in a variety of letter formations and styles. We will be starting with a small brush lettering alphabet using the Kelly Creates Brush Lettering exercise book, and will proceed to similar studies using watercolor inks in both script and block printing. In the future, we will be studying additional styles such as Italic, modern forms, and possibly copperplate script. We will meet once a month, with homework assigned for daily practice.

Students may attend on zoom or in person in upstairs classroom. Sessions will be recorded for those unable to make the monthly gatherings.

Participants may attend any or all sessions. One may attend one or both, as long as they are prepared with supplies.

We offer these  sessions at  no charge with our compliments,  and appreciate you ordering your supplies from The Net Loft. Thank The books are essential and required for the practice exercises  that will be used in the group.
