In this three session class, participants will have the opportunity to construct a simple color strand hat. We will be using the book, Fair Isle Weekend, by Mary Jane Mucklestone.. We will be making the Maalie Cap. Color strand knitting can be a bit challenging, this class will provide both beginners and experienced knitters an opportunity to practice and implement the techniques that Terri has found useful in her 30+ years of color pattern knitting.
Participant must have the following skills for this class:
- Cast on and Bind off
- Knit and purl
- Increase and decrease
Every participant needs the following:
- The Fair Isle Weekend book
- Yarn requirements for the design (found in book on page 57) We will be using Grey Sheep Yarn for this workshop. Students will receive 25% discount on a yarn and book combination.
- Needles (size 5, 7 or size needed to obtain gauge 16 " circular and size 7 double points)
- Knitter’s Tool Kit
Class Location: City Center Education Room
Each student will have their own table to provide for social distancing. Masks required.
